Home Energy Squad Enhanced

Home Energy Squad Enhanced helps Richfield residents save money on energy and increase comfort in their homes

The Home Energy Squad Enhanced Program  (en Espanol) provides a low-cost home energy visit, along with the installation of energy-efficiency products, to Richfield homeowners. The installation may include the following products:

  • Programmable thermostat
  • Weather stripping for two exterior doors
  • Compact fluorescent lights (CFLs) – standard and decorative (globes, floods, 3-way lights)
  • High-efficiency showerhead
  • Kitchen and bathroom faucet aerators
  • Water heater temperature assessment and adjustment
  • Water heater insulation
  • Refrigerator thermometer

The homeowner pays $50 for the visit and installation, while the City pays the remainder of the cost. The visit takes about 2 hours, and scheduling is available throughout the week, evenings and weekends. At the end of the visit and installations, the homeowner is provided with a Home Energy Report (view sample report here). This report allows the homeowners to best prioritize their efficiency upgrades, provides guidance in proceeding with work, and gives information about financing and rebates. Free visits available to income-qualified residents.
